WAYFINDER is the next great co-op ARPG developed by Airship Syndicate and published by Digital Extremes. When DE asked us to help launch the game, we formed a party of heroes from across our departments, set our active quest to “delivering phenomenal work”, and hacked & slashed our way to victory.

THE VISUAL IDENTITY

There’s nothing quite like developing the visual identity for a game with an acclaimed comic book artist as its director, but we were up for the challenge and created a viz id system that tells the story of the game with inspired design.

Throughout the process, we sought to capture the essence of the game, with a particular focus on its original characters, expansive world, and unique take on fantasy that blends tech-forward elements with pure fantasy magic and effects. Our goal was to create an outward-facing identity that truly captured the game’s essence.

To achieve this, we infused our visuals with a powerful energy and otherworldly force that mirrors the omnipresent effects of the gloom throughout the game. Our suite of hyper-colored visual assets features bold shapes reminiscent of an alien energy source, creating a striking and energetic container for the game’s beautiful graphics.

THE TEASE

Thanks to DARKSIDERS, Airship Syndicate’s bonafides in the ARPG space are legit, and, of course Digital Extremes needs no introduction in the ARPG space — WARFRAME remains best-in-class nine years into its run.

The yearly Tennocon event is filled with passionate Warframe players who are also eager to learn what else Digital Extremes has on the horizon, making it the perfect venue to debut a live-action, behind-the-scenes teaser announcing that the legendary Joe Madureira was heading up the development of DE’s next big ARPG. While we were saving the reveal of the game’s name or gameplay footage for the full announcement at The Game Awards, the teaser showcased the passion and credibility of the amazing team behind Wayfinder.
